Stay in your lane

Summer break is ending.  My school year is beginning this week.

As a final farewell, I travelled to visit those important people that live far away.

During the long road trips (alone) I find myself repeating one phrase over and over.  “Stay in your lane.”  Especially on unfamiliar roads with construction and cement barriers that leave little room for error.

It has become a mantra.  A phrase that has grown to have a deeper meaning.  “Stay in your lane. “

Inserting yourself into situations that do not involve you?  “Stay in your lane”.

You don’t like the new tattoo, hair style , or fashion choice? Your opinion was not sought.  “Stay in your lane. “

Others have different relationship styles that do not involve you? Allow others the space to relate to each other how they choose.  “Stay in your lane.”

Others have different belief systems and/or religious preferences?  Different political views? Again, no one asked you. “Stay in your lane”

Take to task what you have been given to do. You are responsible for your journey, alone.  Otherwise, “stay in your lane”.
