Intentional

The peonies are blooming in the place I call home.

I am spending evenings weeding flower beds and mowing the lawn. The never ending battle begins.

On the campground front:

Our personal cabins have drywall and hopefully this weekend will have paint.

The Cabins for rent are a bit farther off. However, the roadwork and infrastructure for the campground are moving right along.

I am planning trips to see my friends and family far away. And of course the beach!

My school year is coming to a close. The excitement over a summer respite is balanced with time to reflect on what worked well and what did not.

I am reminded that my purpose is not just teaching music to elementary students, but rather the act of being intentionally creative.

Each of us gets to decide how we will invest our life’s energy, our creative efforts.

Weeding the flower beds and mulching the peonies may not seem like a fair return for your investment of time. Bringing creativity to elementary students may not seem as important when measured against math, science, and language arts, or lets face it, Professional sports.

I would argue, there is nothing gained or learned that hard work and creativity has not played a hand.

And the blooms that will fill my yard (and our world) in the coming year.
