Know Yourself
Ordinarily, I find great inspiration from the outdoors and nature. This weekend the birds were chirping up a storm, the wildflowers were blooming, the roses and peonies were blooming, and the ticks were in full attack mode. And yet…Nothing. No inspiration at all.
This weekend my inspiration came from a television fast food commercial.
The deep voice who usually bellows out “where’s the meat?” simply quoted a Philosopher (some say Socrates), “To find yourself, think for yourself”.
To Find yourself, Think for yourself.
In this season of fake news and Facebook reposts, I for one get very frustrated at perpetuated falsehoods. People with good intent find the narrative that fits what they want to believe without considering the source and/or cross checking its accuracy with additional sources.
I am sure at one time or another we have all been guilty of “drinking the Kool Aid”.
I believe we have an equally important responsibility to think for ourselves in matters that form the basis of our identity. Who am I? What is my truth? What do I value most? Those questions are ripe for a great deal of introspection. Those are the questions that will result in AUTHENTICITY
To Find yourself, Think for yourself.
Much Love,
