Dust

Do you know what happens when mud dries up? It becomes dust.

I walked down to the barn on a

path that previously covered my feet in mud. But today, (Since it had not rained in weeks)I thought It was safe to wear my sandals.

My feet were covered in dust.

We have always heard the adage, “choose your friends carefully”.

I do believe in the importance of vetting your “tribe”, and particularly “healthy boundaries”. But this is something a little different.

I often wonder how can you sit with your fellow human being and love them in their journey when you are afraid of the dust.

In my opinion, our job is to MEET each other where we are at, LOVE each other where we are at, and ACCEPT each other where we are at.

And I can’t see how we can do that without getting a little dusty.

Empathy

And just maybe we will learn something along the way.
