Gypsy

Last week my neighbor had a party.  Being the good neighbor that I am, I poured my beverage of choice, went into my back yard, safe behind a fence, and enjoyed the evening, live music and all.  It was the closest I have come to live music since before the pandemic. And I reveled in it.

One of the lyrics really stuck out to me… “Her Gypsy Soul”.

I remember a particularly favorite birthday when my daughter gifted me the experience of seeing Fleetwood Mac live.   Stevie Nicks sings “Gypsy”.  She wrote the song while grieving for a friend that passed from this life too young.   Stevie is left here in the physical world as the “Gypsy that remains”.

I have been contemplating, what is a “Gypsy Soul”?

My Dear Friend (and the editor in chief of my blogs) uses the acronym: GTSB.  So, I googled “what is the meaning of a Gypsy Soul”.

“A Gypsy Soul is a woman who is full of energy and wants to live life on her own terms. To some extent she is child-like. She is happy in her own world because she knows how to live! Such a woman is an ancient soul trapped in the body of a modern woman”

To me, self-determination and awareness is at the heart of a Gypsy Soul.   Taking responsibility for my happiness and even more important my peace.

To me, the “Gypsy Soul” means living authentically on this journey.

Every Day I strive to honor the Gypsy Soul that is within, the inner child that is wiser than we credit.  To make my own decisions and my own judgements and my own mistakes without comparisons.

And to allow others to do the same.

Much love,
