2021

We ended the year just as we celebrated its arrival.  An “adventure” In the woods, Trail riding.

The allure of the “adventure” is that we don’t control what we are presented with, we only control our response.   A “Successful” adventure is subjective. We set the parameters.

A lot has taken place in the moments sandwiched in between our two new year “adventures”.

We have loved, we have experienced loss.  We have made strides towards life long accomplishments and even experienced a  few failures.

We have made important investments of time in relationships with those we count as most important.  And we have come to a closer understanding  in the most important relationship we will ever experience, the one with ourselves.

For myself,  I have spent far more moments content, and even joyful than I have anything else.  For that reason alone, I would count 2021 a successful year.

I am forever grateful to have a wonderful co-adventurer.  Someone I love profoundly and respect immensely.

My children Aubrey and G, and my son in law, Connor, are the purpose to my every moment.  I love them beyond!

I am grateful for my friends that are more family to me than anything else.  They have provided the color in my moments and I love them for that!

I am grateful for my Matriarchs, the women who have blazed the trail for me. The women who continuously teach me about myself.

I am grateful that the last text I received from my Gram was that she was proud of me.

As we set off on the adventure we collectively call 2022, what will be the parameters we will use to define a successful adventure?

I am grateful! And that is my parameter success!

Much love,
